Our Story: Built from the Jig Up 🎣
Growing up on the New Jersey shore, jigging wasn’t a trend — it was a tradition. Something your Dad did and taught you to do. Whether it was flipping AVA-17s and 27s underhand for striped bass and bluefish or dropping heavier metals for tuna and deepwater tilefish, jigging was simply part of how we fished.
In 2009, at age 37, I joined Kil Song on one of his earliest trips to the Gulf of Chiriqui and the Hannibal Bank in Panama — and that’s when everything changed. That experience lit a fire for Japanese-style jigging and popping tackle especially the refined art of Slow Pitch Jigging. It became more than a passion — it became an obsession.
That obsession fueled years of trips to Japan, to the Osaka and Tokyo trade shows, building a network. Representing and importing Japanese brands like Sea Floor Control, Ripplefisher/Yamaga and others to the States and building a market.
Visiting factories in person, boots on the ground buying trips across Japan, Korea, China, and Vietnam, where we worked hands-on to develop, test, and refine gear specifically suited for our home waters and U.S.-style fishing.
Every product we carry today is rooted in those personal experiences — built, tuned, and tested for anglers who expect real performance and maximum value from their tackle!
