JigLabs G2 Tuna Eel™

Inspired by the legendary Japanese Gravity Control style jig.

Designed for Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore and Wahoo.

Long-distance casting. Fast sinking. Natural action.

Built with Palmarius enhancements including UV finishes, through-wire construction and optional brass rattle technology.

Available in 120g and 150g for the Northeast Fall Tuna Run.

The Palmarius 120g and 150g model fills a sweet spot for the NJ/NY fall sand eel bite when fish get picky and oversized knife jigs stop getting attention.

Why the G2 Became Famous

The G2 wasn't designed as a flashy slow-pitch jig.

It was designed for one thing:

Catching suspended tuna that refuse everything else.

Japanese anglers targeting:

  • Bluefin Tuna

  • Yellowfin Tuna

  • Albacore

  • Bigeye Tuna

needed a jig that would:

✅ Cast extremely well

✅ Sink quickly through current

✅ Stay in the strike zone longer

✅ Produce action with very little rod movement

The result was the Gravity Control (G2).

What Makes It Different

Most metal jigs:

  • Flutter aggressively

  • Slide sideways

  • Fall erratically

The G2 does something different.

The center of gravity is positioned to:

  • Resist spinning

  • Reduce line twist

  • Maintain a stable fall

  • Produce a subtle side-to-side hunting action

Instead of looking like a wounded baitfish in panic mode...

it looks like a:

sandeel
saury
needlefish
halfbeak
small squid

trying to escape.

That subtle action is deadly on pressured tuna.

Why Tuna Love It

In the Northeast Canyon fishery and Japan's Bluefin fisheries:

Tuna spend much of their lives chasing:

  • Sand eels

  • Anchovies

  • Butterfish

  • Small squid

The long slim profile perfectly matches those forage species.

Especially when fish are feeding on:

  • 4–8 inch sand eels

  • tiny anchovies

  • juvenile squid

many larger jigs stop producing.

The G2 keeps getting bit.

Best Applications

Vertical Speed Jigging

Drop to marks.

Fast crank 20–40 turns.

Pause.

Repeat.

Long Fall

Lift.

Allow controlled fall.

Most strikes occur on the drop.

Cast and Sink

A favorite in Japan.

Cast beyond breaking fish.

Allow the jig to sink.

Fast retrieve through the school.

Legendary Colors

The most sought-after colors have traditionally been:

Color Why it Works
Sardine Clear water
Blue Pink Northeast favorite
Pink Cloudy days
Silver Sand eel match
Green Gold Dirty water
Red Gold Dawn & dusk

Your Palmarius version in the blue holographic pattern would be extremely effective for:

  • NJ Bluefin

  • Long Island Bluefin

  • Cape Cod Tuna

  • PEI Tuna

  • Mid-Atlantic Yellowfin

because it closely resembles Atlantic sand eels.

1. Internal Brass Rattle

Something CB One doesn't offer.

This would give fish an additional vibration cue.

2. UV Belly Stripe

A narrow UV stripe down the belly.

3. Larger 3D Eye

Your current eye is good but could be enlarged 15–20%.

4. Through-Wire Construction

5. BKK Factory Rigging Option
