Team Palmarius Rods finally got ourselves down to Lousiaana to experience some world class fishing with the boys from Gulf of America Outfitters. We fished with Adam Pearson, the owner, world famous Joe VT as our Captain and Austin Salazar as our Mate. Joining us was Joe Myerjack of Shark Byte Digital Marketing, Greg Smith, David Duncan and Dexter Nguyen.
The first day we traveled about 110 miles from Port Fourchen to the fishing grounds, encountering some Scamp Grouper, a few ARS (Atlantic Red Snapper) and had a short sword bite at night. The following morning the fishery really came to life, starting in the deep we managed to jig up a few quality Queen Snapper on the Palmarius 66-5 and 63-6 Slow Pitch Rods. Queens are a great fish to target as they responded to the jig and fight you the entire way up to the surface.
Next up where some deeper spots targeting Scamp Grouper. Here again Capt. Joe VT was right on the money and we started quickly connecting with some quality fish.
Next up it was Yellowedge Grouper, and as David got to sayin, you get a Yellowedge Grouper, and you get a Yellowedge Grouper - it was the Ophra show but with Yellowedge, everyone got one, Greg Smith and David Duncan's where larger than the rest of them.
Adam - the owner of Gulf of America Outfitters, connected with several nice fish a rare Marble Grouper, a double on the new Wakizashi 56-5 (Blue model) and a big AJ also on the Wakizashi Rod
